There are a few tools I use and recommend to simplify and amplify your email marketing efforts. In my mission to help you have a speedy marketing recovery, I thought I would share.
1. If you’re a Gmail or Google Apps user and stay up late nights responding to messages, like I do, you’ll love this one. Plus there’s a free version that’s good enough to get started with. Boomerang allows you to:
- Write messages now and schedule them to deliver at any time (to avoid the 2am timestamp)
- Schedule messages to return to your inbox at a later time
- Remind yourself to follow up on messages that don’t get a response within a certain time schedule. So basically this is help for your follow up which is the key to selling stuff…convinced yet?
2. Aweber is paramount for email marketing but goes beyond newsletters and taps into what I call grown up marketing like autoresponders, segmentation and automation. Don’t worry about the terminology for now, just remember that this tool allows you to be smart with your email marketing by letting you
- tailor messages and adjust your offers to different parts of your audience
- set messages into an automatic sequence and
- get performance results so you can make changes midstream.
Even if you’re not there yet, you want to jump on the Aweber bandwagon sooner rather than later.
3. Nudgemail is like a personal assistant in your inbox. Since we’re connected to email it only makes sense that we make it work FOR us. Nudgemail allows you to schedule reminders to yourself on anything. And the setup is as simple as sending a message. For example I can send a message that comes back into my inbox when I need to be reminded like this

4. This summer I hosted a free webinar on Email Revisited where I reviewed:
- what Google and Yahoo has done to make email marketing harder and what you should do about it
- 3 email strategies that are working today to generate first time and repeat buyers
- how to easily start or restart your email campaign
- key ways to get your emails opened and read instead of deleted or reported as spam
